Ready or not
I have my first client on Friday. I have to admit I’m a little nervous, but I’m also excited. Someone at the practice is leaving to go on maternity leave and asked me to take over working with a family she has worked with for a long time. It felt good that even if I don’t fully feel ready, that somebody else thinks I am.

You will be great!
I totally understand. I started my internship Jan 2nd and they are already asking me to start seeing clients next week. I just keep thinking about how the most important thing we do is to be present and join. We all know how to do that. And I recall something Cheryl quoted to us "tools are what you use until the therapist shows up". I know that quote is helpful for me. All I need to do is show up fully. I can't wait to hear how it goes for you.
Take care,
Beth
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. I had to write about my personal approach to therapy today to include on my disclosure statement and realized that it’s not about solving problems. It’s about listening—and being simply being present to hear others' stories. I truly believe each of us has within ourselves the potential for self-actualization and that change and growth are available to us all.
Your support makes me feel a little less nervous and a little more excited. Thank you.
We are all in this together. :O) It was great seeing you the other day.
